How sellers are verified

Higher-risk categories require more verification before a listing can go live. A buyer sees the outcome as badges, never the underlying documents.

• Verified Business badge for businesses that have passed verification.
• Identity (KYC) verification for restricted categories like vehicles and property.
• Documents checked by Mavunta, never published or downloadable.

Protected payments

For eligible listings, pay with Mavunta escrow. Your money is held and only released to the seller once you confirm delivery.

Keep every payment on Mavunta. Deals arranged off-platform cannot be protected.

• Funds held until you confirm.
• Open a dispute if something goes wrong.
• Refunds processed back through Mavunta.

Avoiding scams

Most marketplace fraud follows a few patterns. Mavunta blocks the worst automatically and flags the rest for review, but a careful buyer is the best protection.

• Never pay a deposit before viewing or inspecting an item.
• Verified employers never charge an application or training fee.
• Avoid anyone promising guaranteed trading or investment profits.
• Never share OTPs, passwords, or your recovery phrase.

Reviews you can trust

Marketplace reviews are tied to real transactions wherever possible, and one reviewer can leave one review per transaction. Verified transaction reviews carry the most weight.

Disputes and refunds

If an escrow order goes wrong, open a dispute from your order. Funds stay held while our team reviews the evidence from both sides and decides the outcome.

Privacy promise

More verification does not mean less privacy. Mavunta shows trust signals, not private data. Your ID, ownership proof, licence files, and exact location are used for verification only and are never shown publicly.

Report a problem

Every listing has a report button. Reports go straight to the moderation queue. If you have lost money or shared sensitive details, report it and change any exposed passwords or PINs immediately.
