From sign up to settled money

  1. 1

    Create your business profile

Name the business and complete business verification. Verification unlocks live settlement and puts a name your customers recognize on the checkout.

  2. 2

Put your QR and links everywhere

Print the poster for the counter, send payment links on WhatsApp for bookings and invoices, or add hosted checkout to your website. Same account, same settlement.

  3. 3

    Let customers pay their way

Mavunta balance, M-Pesa, Airtel Money, card, PayPal, or stablecoins. A tourist pays with what they brought; you never turn away a booking over a payment method.

  4. 4

    Settle and reconcile

Payments land as USDT or USDC with a permanent receipt. Sell to Kenyan shillings and get paid out to M-Pesa when it suits you, and export statements for your accountant.

What a cross-border business actually needs

Universal acceptance

One QR takes every live method. No juggling a card machine, a PayPal account, and three wallet apps.

Payment links for WhatsApp

Fix the amount for a deposit or invoice, cap how many times a link can be paid, and send it where your customers already are.

Customers in any currency

Travellers pay in shillings, dollars, euros, or pounds through card and PayPal rails. You do not carry their currency risk; you settle in digital dollars.

Settlement you control

Hold USDT or USDC, or sell for Kenyan shillings and get paid out to M-Pesa. Your money, your timing, protected by your transaction PIN.

Refunds without drama

Refund balance payments straight from the dashboard. Refunds on partner methods are handled with support, with the record kept on the payment.

Reconciliation built in

A dashboard of every payment and its status, CSV statement exports, and signed webhooks if you run your own software.

What it costs

Mavunta Balance payments carry a small Mavunta fee. M-Pesa, card, and PayPal payments include the provider fee and the conversion spread in the quoted rate. The checkout always shows what the customer pays and what you receive before anyone confirms.

Run it safely

  • Release goods or services only after your dashboard shows Paid. Never trust a screenshot on a customer phone.
  • Check your printed poster regularly; replace it immediately if anything looks tampered with.
  • Keep your login private and protect the account with a transaction PIN and 2FA.
  • Confirmed crypto settlements are irreversible, which protects you from the classic reversal scam.

Borderless business questions

When do I get my money, and in what currency?

Balance payments settle instantly; M-Pesa, card, and PayPal settle once the provider confirms, usually within a minute. You receive USDT or USDC in your Mavunta wallet, and you can sell to Kenyan shillings and get paid out to M-Pesa whenever you choose.

Can I price in my customer’s currency?

Your customer sees what they pay in their method and currency before confirming, and you see what you receive. The quote does the conversion; neither side has to do bureau maths at the counter.

What about chargebacks and disputes?

Card and PayPal disputes are handled through the provider process with our support alongside you, with the full payment record as evidence. Stablecoin and balance settlements do not reverse behind your back.

Do my customers need the Mavunta app?

No. The QR and payment links open a checkout in the browser. Customers with a Mavunta balance can sign in to use it; everyone else pays by mobile money, card, or PayPal.

Can my website or system integrate this?

Yes. Payment intents, hosted checkout, and signed webhooks are available through the developer API, with sandbox keys free to try.

Is Mavunta a licensed acquirer or exchange?

Mavunta is in early access and does not claim licences it has not been granted. Card, mobile money, and PayPal legs are processed by licensed payment partners, and the compliance status page states the current position plainly.

Never lose a sale to a payment method again

Sandbox is free. Verify your business when you are ready to settle real money, print the poster, and take the next traveller who walks in.
